Rebellion or Extinction
How can Team Human win the struggle to survive?
Together with two of the most exciting contemporary thinkers, we will address some of the crucial questions of our time. Extinction Rebellion co-founder Gail Bradbrook and bestselling author Douglas Rushkoff (one of the 10 most influential intellectuals in the world according to MIT) will share their assessment of current socio-ecological developments with us and dare to look into the future.
Will movements like Extinction Rebellion with non-violent civil disobedience and new forms of democracy, such as citizens' assemblies, succeed in making the fundamental changes possible that are necessary for a future worth living? How do the corporations and governments that are destroying our world for their profits react to the protest movements that emerged in 2019? How could the social and political conflicts develop in the coming months, that are decisive for our opportunities to actively shape the fundamental change that our societies will experience as a result of the climate crisis and ecosystem destruction? Which narratives and tactics can social movements be most successful with?
Will the elite´s business as usual will make most of the planet uninhabitable and result in a "survival of the richest" (Rushkoff), or can we still succeed in building solidarity-based societies that regenerate ecosystems and enable all people to live well on this one planet we all call our home?
